HIGHFIELD Manufacturing Company
Company Overview

Past and present:
Highfield MFG. Co. was founded in the heart of the New England metal-forming industry in Watertown, Massachusetts in the early 1930's. Known to our earliest customers as Morse-Smith-Morse, our business began with the design and manufacture of safety valves and security products for the New England Natural Gas Industry. The company's original design and patent for a barrel lock dates back to 1933, and our barrel lock and lock seal assemblies are considered to be the standard for valve security in the Water and Natural Gas Industries. Our Firomatic® brand of valves and accessories serves the fuel oil heat industry. Many of our valves carry the US and Canadian Underwriters Laboratory (UL®) listing and have a thermally actuated safety shut-off feature. Our security products have been designed to meet or exceed ANSI and other applicable industry standards.

During the 1980's, Highfield consolidated its different operations into one facility, located in Bridgeport, CT. The company now manufactures and sells Utility security products, oil and gas safety valves, oil filter assemblies, thermal switches, fabricated impellers, air blower baffles, and other specialty products to a wide array of customers in different segments of the Oil Heating, Utility, and Industrial OEM marketplaces, both domestically and abroad.

Our business climate is rapidly evolving due to changes in domestic and foreign market conditions. In order to position the company well into the future in the markets we serve, and to maintain our commitment to growth, quality, customer service, and continued improvement, Highfield has implemented several proactive measures to meet today's challenges.

A fully computerized planning system has been launched to better control inventories, customer requirements, and lead times. Our customer-focused web site provides updated catalog and product information to our customer base and field sales force. The company is EDI (electronic data interchange) capable to better serve our largest customers and we now process credit card orders. Our engineering department is equipped with a CAD (computer aided design) system for fast turn-around time on products engineered to meet specific customer applications. Our engineering, sales and manufacturing personnel bring over 120 years of combined industry experience, and all of our professional sales representatives are highly qualified to provide prompt, courteous service and support.

Our management team welcomes change as an opportunity to bring the highest level of value and service to our customers along with consistent quality assurance in the products that we manufacture.
