The hallmark of Highfield’s leadership in the security products industry is a distinguished tradition of innovation. Founded more than 75 years ago, in Watertown, Massachusetts, Highfield began designing and manufacturing safety valves and security products for the natural gas industry in New England.  In 1933, the company patented the industry’s first barrel lock.  Our barrel lock and lock assemblies are considered the standard for valve security in the water and natural gas industries. 

Since its inception, Highfield has been a leader in the introduction of problem-solving products across many markets and niche applications.  The company holds 30 patents.
